20 months

I can't believe my baby is 20 months old! She is the joy of my life and has really changed a lot in the last couple of months. We have had a rough winter with sickness and the seizure, thank goodness Sadie has a wonderful spirit and personality.

We have been super busy the last couple of months! Mike got a promotion, yeah Mike and he has been busy at work. So proud of my hardworking husband. We went to Miami Beach (pictures to come soon) last weekend and Sadie loved the water and sand. We have also been constantly at the doctor etc, ugg. She is doing great, but had colds and any fever freaks me out! Sadie had a language assesment and was way off the charts, doing so great on her skills. We have been working hard on her speaking and signing. She can communicate so much better since we have focused on it. She scored at 26 months on most skills, so that was a big relief. I was never worried about her comprehension, just the talking.

We are also very lucky to have Amy, our nanny, take such good care of Sadie during the day and send me all these great pictures. She has found this ap on her iphone that does photoshop etc and these pictures were all taken with it! She loves Sadie and works with her to sign and talk, thank God for her! Sadie will start school parttime in the summer, I am excited about her being around other kids and socializing. She loves to go to gymboree and the library to the music classes.

Here is what Sadie loves to do at 20 months.
play hide and seek! she can hide for minutes and loves to laugh when you find her. Her laugh is sucking in and comes out like a squeal. She loves to cover her eyes and hide too.

She is very loving. she kisses and hugs other kids and loves babies. she always signs baby and says ahh. she loves to look out the window and point to the buses and cars. she loves them and says bus, car, truck and signs driving. When she sees a kid sad or crying, she will go up and hug him and give pats. Her favorite phrase is "whats that" to everything.

She loves to get stamps and stickers. When she does something good, she wants to get the stamp!

She is very brave. We had to get an EEG for her this week and she had to be sleep deprived. she was a trouper while they hooked her up and slept for the test. she was a brave little girl. We will be doing another test next week to rule out anything else. The second neurologist felt that due to the seizure happening with no fever, it was not a febrile seizure. Treatment is the same, just wait and watch. He is more aggressive and wants to do an MRI to rule out everything. Her EEG was normal, thank God. Keep praying for her please.

It will be all good, just hate waiting to ensure that it is ok. The increased risk of a second event is what is so scary. there is a 25% chance of another seizure. Hopefully we just had the one.

Sadie is facinated by bottles of any kind. she loves to unscrew them and play with them. She can drink water from a cup now and loves to steal my water bottles. She loves fruit and anything with katsup.

She sucks her two fingers still and rubs her cheek to sleep. She mimics all our actions like crossing legs and putting on makeup, she even got a comb and was pretending to shave her legs.

She loves to sit and read. Every night before bed we read our books and say our prayers. She now will grab my hand and Mike's hand and pretend to pray. I love it so much, she is a reminder to me to continually give thanks in all circumstances.

She loves jewelry. always putting on rings and shoes and necklaces. so funny!

She also knows what time-out is, I have been picking Nichole's brain on how to handle the two year old stage! She is definitely throwing fits and pouting. The other day, Mike put her in time out downstairs and her nose in the corner she looked so cute I just had to laugh.

Did I mention she loves to climb and play!

She has a potty now and loves to sit on it. She lets me know when she has a stinky and loves to wave bye bye to the toilet paper. she will get the smallest piece you can imagine to bring to me or use. She hasn't used the potty yet, we are just starting to talk about it because she seems interested in it.

When she gets a BooBoo she is very dramatic and will cry if you even say the word. She loves to kiss booboos on mommy and have her's kissed too.

Sadie Grace, you are an amazing kiddo and I love you so much! I can't wait to see how you grow and chance over the next twenty months :)
