Sadie's Pigtails

Sadie's hair has gotten so long and curly and we finally put it in pigtails. It lasted for about five minutes! She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and is obsessed with the hot diggity dog song! Amy bought her a book for Christmas and she loves it, you can see her playing with it here.

Sadie with Mommy's Jewelry

Sadie has turned super girlie! She loves my jewelry and playing in my make-up drawer. Watch closely and you can see her show her dimples! She has learned all her body parts and understands so much. She is funny and loves to laugh!

The most amazing invention ever

This is Sadie's newest pose! She thinks it is hilarious to copy me and cross her arms. She is also enjoying playing pretend and feeding her dolls and bears with her tea set from Amy. She is really turning into a little girl!

This week Sadie has been sick with what turned out to be RSV and a double ear infection. Mike is also out of town so not the best timing :) As a result, her snot has been out of control! In desperation, I purchased this nasal aspirator because they were sold out of my other favorite one. (I really have tried all of them over the last year and the little noses one works great.)

Anyway this booger sucker is the best, it quickly sucks and plays music to distract. It will me my new go to baby gift moving forward. On a brighter note, I think the worst is behind us thanks to antibiotics (my second favorite invention)!!

Thanksgiving in Vegas

This year we went to Vegas to see Grandma June and Papa Ron. Sadie was so excited to visit her grandparents and was pretty good on the plane. We had 6 am flights both ways and with the two hour time difference we were not getting much rest. We stayed at the Red Rock hotel, where we stayed on our wedding night. We laughed about how the room was now covered with baby stuff and reading ABC and Brown Bear, life has changed! Sadie woke up every day at 4 am, good thing about Vegas is that there are restaurants and people up at that hour :) Ron and June watched Sadie one night so Mike and I could go to a movie (I know we are party animals) and gamble a little. We had a wonderful visit and Sadie had a great time playing with her grandparents and seeing the birds they have.

Sadie is obsessed with this book now, she loves for everyone to read it and sing abc song to her. She will pull your hand and pat the chair for you to sit so you can read it to her.

So much to be thankful for this year! Thank you God for all our blessings!

Our little "pumpkin"

This Halloween Sadie was a pumpkin. Catherine was kind enough to pass down Elise's costume to us this year. She loved being in her costume. The moment she put it on she was grinning and touching it.
She knew she was looking pretty cute. We went over to our friends, Courtney, Colby and Walker's house for trick-or-treating and pizza. Not much opportunity to do trick-or-treat in our neighborhood in uptown Dallas.

Sadie loved carrying her bag around and seeing all the other kids out. She enjoyed going up and down the stairs more than anything. She is practicing this skill all the time and thinks it is big fun! She hasn't figured out how to bend her knees when going up a stair, so it is funny when she tries to climb.
She has so much personality now, laughing and playing and talking. When we act sad she comes and comforts us by laying her head on us and patting us. She loves her baby doll and carries her around.
Sadie has 4 teeth on top 4 on bottom and two molars. She is chewing on everything as they come out. She loves food and loves fruit and veggies mostly. She recently discovered how to dip things in sauces. She loves it and thinks it is so fun!

We have had a lot of changes around our house in the last couple of weeks. We are in the process of trying to sell our house, not too much luck lately but fingers crossed we can get it sold. We just bought a new car, an Acadia, for our family car. Biggest of all is that Mike and I both got new jobs. Mike starts tomorrow and I start a week from Monday. Crazy times ahead! I had to make a change because I was traveling too much and a wonderful opportunity presented itself. Please keep us in your prayers as we adjust to new careers and try to balance it all.

These pictures are from the pumpkin patch in Flowermound. Sadie had so much fun playing with the pumpkins!

We hope everyone had a wonderful start to fall and the holiday season!!

Sadie's 13 Month Pictures

We had Sadie's pictures taken by Wendy Vaughan last month. After seeing Lacy Headly's pictures of Audrey on her blog (aren't blogs great) I called her and she came to see us. She was wonderful and did a great job! Here are some of my favorites.

October Fun

We have had a fun October and eventful. Sadie, Amy and I had a ball at the state fair one afternoon. Miss daredevil, Amy rode all the rides and we all sampled fried food galore! I also took Sadie to her first little gym class today. She had so much fun playing with the other kids and loved the bubbles. We will have to go back. I also had a girls weekend in Austin for Aj's bachelorette party while Mike took care of Sadie. It was great to see everyone and made me realize I need to do it more often!
More pictures from Sadie's 1 year phots to come!

Long overdue update

Wow, where have the last couple of months gone? Sadie is now 14 months weighs 24 lbs and is growing and changing so much. She is in the 90th percentile for height and weight. We have been super busy the last couple of months and I have sucked at blogging.

I have committed to getting better and doing a better job of keeping up on how she is growing and changing. So here is what we have been up too:

We have been to MP once over the last couple of months. I was super excited to see some old friends and meet their cute kids. I used to kind of dread running into old friends when I went home for a fear of some secret judgement of I am not far enough along in my job or my life didn't measure up or wow sarah let her self go... You know the stuff that comes with a small town and people who have known you before you really became you. Now I find it to be such a joy, maybe its my own security in who I am but I love seeing my old friends who knew me when I was a kid. I love seeing how great they look and how wonderful their lives are. I really love meeting their little mini me's and seeing them as parents :) You all know who you are and I love you all.
Sadie and I have also been sick, passing germs back and forth. We experienced her first stomach bug. Not fun at all.
Sadie is talking up a storm, most of it we can't understand but she says Dada all the time! She understands more than she says. When we ask her to point to mommy or amy, she does and she knows her ears and hair.

She is working on learning how to eat with a fork and doing pretty good. She loves to get the "perfect" bite. She puts all things on her fork, a pea, carrot and meat and then eats it. Too funny. She loves peas, they are her favorite. She also loves to eat anything off our plates. She is now drinking out of a sippy cup and still has a sippy cup of milk at bed time.
She loves going to the park to swing and to slide. She wants to hold our hand while we walk together and loves giving hugs and kisses. She also got some new nike sneakers and thinks she is hot stuff. She loves shoes.

Mike and I are both working full time. It is hard to balance both work and baby at times. I am working on balance, aren't we all right! We also just celebrated our 3rd anniversary!

My Mom was recognized for her art by being selected to participate in a show in a major gallery in Dallas. It was quite an exciting event and we are very proud of her!

Promise to do more updates soon!
