Fun with a Baby

It is great to have mom friends to introduce you to all the options available out there. There are 2 great ones that I have used. If anyone has any other services, products, ideas etc pass em on!

In the last 24 hours we have had big fun! Last night we had our first sitter so that Mike and I could go to his Christmas Party. We used a service that was recommended to me by a couple of people called seekingsitters. They do all the background checks and match you with a sitter in your area. We ended up with a wonderful woman who had been a live in nanny for 5 years and is a social worker now. It was great to get out for a couple of hours and feel great about leaving my baby with a stranger. Even typing that sentence is weird, but she was great and I didn't worry too much. Mike did enough of the worry for both of us :) We will definitely use the service again.

Today I went to the Cry Baby matinee at the Angelika to see the movie Precious. It is really neat to be able to bring your baby and get out for a movie. This is the second one I have gone to with friends and although Sadie was awake the whole movie, she only cried a little. They keep the theatre a little lighter and sound a little lower. They also have a changing table set up so it is easy to change the little ones. Amazingly the babies hardly cry and the movie is easy to watch. It is nice to have options for moms to get out and about.
