uncle bubba

camo outfit from Bubba

Sadie got to meet her Uncle Bubba last week and she had a great time. My brother and his girlfriend, Courtney, came up to see us and brought Sadie the cutest Camo onesie. We went out to eat twice and she was pretty well behaved. As soon as she saw Bubba she spit up all over him and farted loudly, it suprised him how gross a little girl can be :) We can't wait for them to come visit again! On another topic is my knee injury that occured a couple of weeks ago. It is still sore and unsteady which is inconvienant with a new baby. I am having an MRI tonight, so I need prayers that I don't need any surgery.

Alicia and Kristin visit

My friends from Las Vegas came to visit this last weekend. We had a great time and were able to do quite a lot for a 5 week old. We went to get mani/pedi's one day, shopping, dinner and even dinner with just girls while Dad watched Sadie. Thanks for coming to visit Kris and Alicia.

Elise and Catherine come to visit

Last week Elise and Catherine came over to play with Sadie and me. We had a great time visiting, reading books and playing dress-up. Elise is just beautiful and so smart! I read to her a book with animals and sounds and when I showed her the animal again she remembered the sound, too cute! They also brought the most adorable diaper cover and bib with Sadie's name on it. I had her photographed in the diaper cover, thanks again!

1 month photo

We have had some more "firsts" in her 1st month..
1) First night in her crib, she has officially transitioned!
2) First smile at me, it was the best! She has not done it again so might have been gas or something but I loved it!
3) First night where she slept 4 hours straight! She did this with a half breast milk half formula combo! Hopefully we can continue this trend.
4) First couple of days with Dodger, he is officially back. He is so funny with her and keeps lying down next to her and wanting to kiss her! He also wants to take over her chair!

More Photos

Check out session 2 of our photos of Sadie. Mallory's computer crashed and lost the photos from the first session so we had a redo this weekend. It is crazy how much bigger Sadie is in 3 weeks!

Happy Birthday Mike!

Not happy about being a year older :)

the chef and helper!

the lopsided cake

Dad and daughter!

Today is Mike's 33rd birthday! We are having a low key family celebration complete with a homemade carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Yes, I got ambitious (hobbling on my hurt knee) to make a Mike's favorite cake for him. It turned out delicious, but not very pretty. I attempeted to make a double layer carrot cake with frosting in the center. Unfortunatly the cake wouldn't sit right on top of the other and the middle layer of icing dissappeared when I cut it. I told Mike that by the time he is 40 I should be a pro! Anyway we enjoyed eating it!

I always ask Mike what he wants to accomplish in the next year and asked him if he remembered what he said last year. He didn't but, I reminded him that he said he wanted to become a Dad and here were are! We will see what his goal is for 33!

Happy Birthday Mike. Thanks for being an amazing husband and father to our little girl, I love you!

Sadie updates

The Sleep Sack picture from website

Not loving her bath!

Sadie and Poco

Courtney, Walker, Sadie and Me

This week Sadie has started to fall into a more consistant sleep pattern and seems to have figured out her days and nights. I even got 4.5 hours between feedings the other night. It seems that she is enjoying her bouncy chair more and has gained some more weight. She is really growing, hard to believe she is almost a month old! The Halo Sleep Sack has also be magical to get her to stop crying! I finally tried it with her arms in and the fleece version and she fell asleep quickly (thanks for the tip Nichole!) Hopefully we are on our way to some rest, or at least minimal screaming :) We are having so much fun just watching her expressions and loving on her. She is such a blessing!

Grandma June and Papa Ron's Visit

This past weekend we had Mike's parents come to meet Sadie from Las Vegas. We enjoyed a visit to the arboretum, dinner out (yes out with Sadie) at Grimaldies and cooking at home. Sadie was really great and seems to be falling into some consistant sleeping schedule. Her grandparents got to feed her and love on her, she really enjoyed all the extra attention. The only hiccup during the fun weekend was me falling in the rain on the garage floor. This involved a trip for x-rays, luckly nothing was broken, just really bruised! Thanks Ron and June for a great weekend!

Sadie meets her brother

My Dad brought Dodger up to meet Sadie last week. He has been on vacay in the country while we are getting settled. He was a bit confused as to what was going on and kept running around when she cried. Hopefully I will be ready to have him back full-time in a couple of weeks. Until then thankfully he is in great hands with my parents.

Sadie and I are on our own during the day this week, my Mom left on Friday after 10 days of taking care of us and helping us transition. She has gained an inch in height and is now up to 7 lbs, 4 oz. She has also started to have a distinct fussy period from around 11-2am each night. She cries and we can't seem to figure out why. When I asked the doctor he said this was normal, but it breaks my heart. She gets so tired but can't sleep and Mike and I just keep trying different ways to make her relax. During the day she seems to have little problem sleeping, just that late evening feeding and doesn't want to sleep at night. I love the picture above of her sleeping and the one with her paci. She loves to have her hands right by her face with the paci or anytime she eats, it is so cute. We also had some pictures taken on Saturday by a wonderful and sweet photographer, Mallory Womack. She posted some previews of the pictures on her blog www.mallorywomack.blogspot.com Check them out. I can't wait to see the ones she took with Sadie in her hot pink tutu!
