Today marks the countdown to delivery! I am officially full-term today and so thankful that I have made it to this point.
I have been put on bed rest due to swelling and major back pain. The little one is on my sciatic nerve and makes walking very difficult and painful. I am finishing up reviews this week for my team from home and then I am done with my job for a while. It is a wierd feeling to just shut it down, but I am grateful to have the time to spend at home preparing for her.
Thankfully my Mom came up for a few days to help out. She is wonderful. She went to the grocery store and made food for us and helped with laundry etc. I feel so guilty sitting around and am so thankful to have a wonderful mother! I hope I can be half as good to my daughter.
I will keep you all posted as we wait. She will be here in 3-4 weeks!

Relaxing Weekend
This weekend we really had a chance to unwind and relax. Friday night Mike and I layed on the couch and watched two movies. Saturday we got up early and went to breakfast at my favorite, "The Original Pancake House" and took Dodger to the Indoor Dog Park. Later that night we had dinner with Courtney and Colby and little Walker. He slept all through dinner and was so good and then we headed home to meet my brother and his girlfriend who were staying with us. Sunday we all went to brunch and to see the Hangover. It was a good movie, very funny if a little raunchy.
After that I took advantage of having another man around and he and Mike hung the rest of the stuff in the nursery and house. I had to get a picture of the boys debating exactly where to put the butterflies. Too funny!

Also here is a picture of my lovely cankles! I spent most of the weekend trying to get the swelling down to no avail!

36 weeks

Wednesday marked the beginning of the 36th week. I went to the doctor today and all is still on track. I am ready, bags are packed and body is exhausted :)
I have had a lot of lower back pain and hip pain which makes walking not too fun and sleep impossible. All getting me geared up for the arrival of little Miss Zipser. My ankles and feet are so big and puffy and hands are sore from the swelling. All for a great purpose. Emotionally I am all over the place but find my self laughing at myself crying. Funny what your body goes through. I am starting to get a little nervous about labor, but it still seems far away.
I have posted a picture below of 36 weeks, hopefully there will be no 40 week picture.
Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers.

Farewell Pepere
Last week my grandfather passed away. He had been sick for a while and not the same after he lost Memere around a year ago. Memere and Pepere mean grandmother and grandfather in French. My grandparents were wonderful people who left a legacy of love for each other, their families and God. He and Memere traveled the world and lived through separation due to war, moves all over the world, illness and death. They really lived. What a blessing to have such a long life with so much living. As I looked at my grandfather yesterday, dressed in his dress blues I thought about the legacy that you leave behind. It is not about anything but your love for God and others. No matter what medals you have acquired or money you have all we thought about was the quality time we had with him. We remember a great man who served others, God and his country.
You could see that legacy best in my Mom who cared for them the last 6 plus years of their life. She is amazingly patient and loving to ensure that through Alzheimer's, CHD and strokes they had the best quality of life they could have. I really admire her and her heart for others. She is a living example of the love that my Memere and Pepere lived their life with.
Mike and I traveled to MP this past weekend to say goodbye and although bittersweet it was great to see old family members. It is sad that as you get older and move all over you often don't see everyone until a funeral or wedding.
I know this is a bit of a heavy post, but I wanted to share with you what a great person my Pepere was.

Staycation

This weekend Mike suprised me with a Birthday weekend in Ft. Worth. We drove in on Friday night and spent the weekend at the new Omni in downtown. We hung out by the pool, ordered room service and relaxed. I spent Saturday at the spa getting a massage and facial and hanging by the pool. It was a wonderful day topped off by dinner with Catherine, Michael, Nathan and Amanda at Reata. As you can see from the pics we all were color coordinated. Although not on purpose :) We somehow got a private room in the middle of the resturant and had a fun time. We then went to the roof top bar and visited more. It was a great birthday weekend. Thank you to my sweet and thoughtful husband!

Singing Happy Birthday!

Yumm cake!
This weekend Mike and I spent some time in the country with my parents and some time in Dallas. We had a wonderful time in MP hanging in the pool and relaxing with Mom and Dad. Dodger also had a ball. I didn't take a lot of pictures, but I did kick start my 30th birthday month (because it is only fair to get a full month!). My Mom made a fabulous dinner and a angel food cake with her special icing for me.
On Saturday Mike and I went to the Rangers game. Thankfully we had a suite so I could be in the AC, it was very hot. The best part was the fire works after the game. We got to go on the field with the players and watch. Mike's boss really hooked us up. It was so neat to look up at the stands and see what the players must see when they play. Unfortunatly I didn't have my camera with me :(
It was a wonderful break and nice to relax!
Nursery Pics
below are some pictures of our nursery progress. The painting is one that my super-talented mom painted for my 18th birthday. It includes all my first toys, dolls, baby blankets and dance stuff. I always dreamed of hanging it in my daughters room one day.
I also got a bit crafty with the tulle tie backs on the curtains and the butterfly chalk board tags for the baskets in the closet. I found them at Joann's fabrics for a dollar each compared with the pottery barn version at 20 bucks a pop. Mom and I found the mirror at an antique store and spray painted it white. The growth chart, butterfly book ends and cross are all Canton purchases. We still have to finish the bathroom and hang her name and butterflys on the wall but we are getting close! Only 6 more weeks to go!
