Sadie's new bike & temper tantrums

So excited about her big girl bike.  She has talked about getting one for months when she turns 3

cleaning out the garage.  I saved this megaphone for my future daughter!

barbie never goes out of style.  this is my mom's outfits.  Mine were fun to go through.  I vividly remember playing with them all and they are very 80's!

Starting to roll eyes!!!  Starts young

Reward chart to stop the attitude.  She earned a sticker for cleaning her toys, putting her dishes in the sink, not acting up, listening etc.  She got a sticker taken away for a time out.  After a couple of days she made it over a week without a temper tantrum and no time outs!  Bribery works

taking it to the ice cream shop to redeem her cone.  the teenager behind the counter was not as excited as we were!

her pick was vanilla with marshmallows and m&ms

nursing mini mouse with baby sister's tummy time mat.  She mimicks everything that I do with baby E.  It is so cute, I had to post it.  I am sure she will kill me one day

2 months

2 months!  Wow.  This month has been all about getting into a routine.  Eve is a eater and weighs over 10 lbs now.  She gets checked out next week so I will update then.

She is sleeping pretty well, much better than Sadie ever did.  She is eating 7-8 times a day every two or three hours.  At night we started swaddling and now she will skip a feeding and sleep 5-6 hours straight.  It is amazing to have some sleep.  Her crazy time time is from around 4-10, she is restless and screams.  Luckily it is followed by sleep.  She is still nursing and loves to eat.  She spits up a lot.  I have tried different positions and bought a new nursing pillow called the GIA that is more angled to help.  She is still on prevacid 2x a day and sleeps in the rock and play that gives an angle.

She has started to smile and they are amazing!  She is more alert and starting to discover her hands.  She bats at the toys on her bouncer and loves to suck to fist and thumb.  She loves her paci too. Her eyes are still blue, wonder if they will stay that way??

Hemangioma after treatment

Before treatment around 7 weeks

8 weeks hemangioma

Eve's nursery/office/guest room!  Made the best use of space that we could.

This month we discovered that Eve has a strawberry hemangioma on her face and on her chest.  This benign tumor typically shows up after birth and grows rapidly for the first 6 months of life and then will stabilize and start to involute.  They are typically gone by the time the kid is 5.  She got the one on her chest around a week old and it is bright red and the size of a dime.  The one on her eye started at 6 weeks and looked like bruise or a clogged tear duct.  I thought it was related to the clogged tear ducts that she has and so I took her in at 8 weeks to get looked at.  Dr. Neely referred us to a plastic surgeon and we saw Dr. Burns that same week.  He said that it was good to start treating early so that it doesn't grow so large that it has to be surgically removed.  The concern is that it will obstruct her vision and or press on her eye and change the optics.  He put her on a beta blocker that has been shown to stop growth.  After almost a week on it, it has significantly changed in color and puffiness. Hopefully this will keep the growth down until it has a chance to go away without surgery!

Sadie's 3rd Birthday Party

For Sadie's third birthday, we had a party at a mini golf place.  She has loved playing there over the last year and we thought it would be great for her party.  The kids were able to build a bear and got tokens to play the games inside where they won tickets.  We then had cake and pizza and then everyone was off to play golf, ride go-karts or try the batting cages. I managed to get a little crafty with her favor bags and banners while eve slept.

Golf Balls made from paper lanterns

Favor bags that said "thanks for playing a round with me at my Par-tee" I made these tags on PowerPoint

made this banner with my computer and card stock

Amy made the girls outfits!  So cute

She really got into her birthday this year, talking about singing happy birthday and blowing out candles.  She has been talking about it for a month.  She is so much fun now!

We also had GG and Grandma June in town for the weekend from Las Vegas.  Sadie had so much fun playing and playing with them.  She is very into giving everyone 'check-ups' with her doctor kit.  She loves the show Doc McStuffins and can give you a thorough work up.

At 3 years old, she is growing like a weed and looks so more mature.  She weighs around 35 pounds.  She still wakes up early (6-7) and will take an afternoon nap most days.  She has quite an imagination and plays with objects and makes up stories.  She is very loving, hugging and kissing us and her sister.  She loves to take care of her babies and mimics everything we do with her sister.  She can put together 24 piece puzzles easily and can count to 30.  She has starting understanding adding and can do simple 1+.  She remembers everything, if you try to skip a word in a familiar book she will call you on it.  She is a negotiator, she will wear you down asking and asking.  She is curious and asks why about everything.  She is a joy and brings so much happiness to us everyday.  Every stage with her seems to be my favorite and she cracks me up daily.  She is dramatic and doesn't handle pain (scratches) well.  She is cautious, she doesn't just jump head first into a new situation.  She needs to feel it out first.  Sadie is a Daddy's girl, she lights up when he walks in the room.  She wants me most when she is acting up, tired or in pain.  She already tries to play one of us against the other :)  I never thought I would be more of the push over! I love cuddling with her and playing with her.  So thankful for the last three years with this little girl!
