24 Weeks

I am now 24 weeks! I am feeling good, just some heartburn. I have noticed an increased ammount of energy about mid day so I am trying to take advantage of that! I also can feel her move and twist now which is the best! Thanks for your continued prayers. I have posted a 24 week picture at the bottom of the page.

Shopping with Amanda

Today I went shopping with Amanda for some new jeans. You can read all about the experience here http://utmandaj.blogspot.com/.

It was very fun to shop for non maternity things since I have not in about 5 months and I didn't even have to spend any money! We found a great pair of jeans for Amanda that accentuate her cute figure that she tries to hide. The girl has the flattest stomach and these new jeans are a very cute choice! Thanks Amanda for letting me play dress up with you today!

Adventures in Babies R Us & Nesting updates

I have officially begun my nesting phase over the last couple of weekends, here are some of the updates....

Last Friday night (yes, Mike and I are party animals) we attempted to go to Babies R Us to register and look around. I have been told by many people what an overwhelming place that is and I guess I thought it can't be too bad. Boy, was I wrong! After about 50 minutes of looking at a wall of bottles, pacifiers and other things I had no idea what they were, Mike and I decided that we were in serious trouble. I needed Mom's who had been there and survived the trauma of a baby superstore and could explain what half the stuff was for. The car ride home was me tearing up about how I am going to manage to raise a child when I have NO idea what any of those contraptions are and Mike getting more concerned because he assumed I knew what I was doing, which I don't. Now, I consider myself a smart, educated person and I have been around a couple of babies, but Babies R Us got the best of me. I felt like I had been knocked out in the 1st round!

Later in the week I had the help of Jessica to get me through! She and I met where I bravely ventured back into the store. She got me all squared away, thanks Jessica! Thanks also to Nichole who looked at the list and added/deleted items I needed! Courtney also helped show me what she had gotten. I feel much more prepared (or so I tell myself). Thank you all!

This weekend we picked out our nursery furniture (at a much smaller store). That is big progress since I have not done anything yet and I seem very indecisive. Here is a picture of the set. We are not getting the armoire. I have found the bedding I think I am going to get on Ebay (yep still lovin EBay) for about half the price than the other store.

My friend Courtney is pregnant too and she is due in May so last Sunday Courtney, Colby, Mike and I attended our hospital tour. It was very fun to see the babies in the nursery and not so fun to see the bed with the stirrups and squat rail (had no idea what that was and still am not sure if I do!). It was fun to see where we will be having our baby and I learned a lot about what to expect during the delivery. I also ensured there were good procedures to avoid getting the baby switched with another :), too many Lifetime movies I guess. This weekend Colby and Mike cleared out our guest room and now we have a blank slate to start preparing for the Baby!

Thanks to all our friends for their help over the last couple of weekends!

My Dad the Dog Whisperer

The "dog whisperer".
Many people have gifts and one of the many that my Dad has is his love for animals. My parents live out in the country and have a lot of animals. This is the nightly ritual that Dodge was so excited to participate in. You can see the two cats, Alice and Bob; 4 dogs Tippy (not pictured), Roy, Bonnie and Taco; Dodger and the neighbors dog Par. It is quite the play place for Dodger! He has learned to catch the leftovers in his mouth to ensure that it doesn't get taken by another competitor! I was not able to capture the way my Dad "pre-washes" the inside dogs at the end of the night so that they can come inside. He throws a treat into the pool and they swim in to get it, it is hilarious!

Here are some examples of why Dodger loves MP! He is in pure heaven with the extra treats, playmates and open land! He is so exhausted after a visit he sleeps for 2 days and can barely move! We had a wonderful time visiting Easter weekend.
